Tail draggers for beginners (and some pro's)
well your message didn't come thru but i think you want to know what taildragger is best for a beginner. i bought a gp super sportster 40 for my brother and it is a great trainer for tail wheelsers and it is a great flying airplane

I agree, I had have converted or when building convert all mine to taildraggers. I started with the tricycle landing gear, but I seemed to learn to take off and land much faster with a taildragger.

The 4*40 isn't unreasonable as a trainer... tone down the controls, and put the CG 1/4 inch ahead of the spar just a little and its as docile as a LT-40. This allows lots of room for advancement too. [img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-wink.gif[/img] Slowly move the CG back to the spar after soloing... then if you feel the need, you can clip the wings for a faster roll rate and a bit more of a Fun-Fly style performance.
You'll also find that modelers that have been flying for 10 years or more can still really enjoy flying a 4*40 built exactly by the instruction... |
