Glue storage
What is the best way to store glue when I am not doing any building? That includes CA, epoxy and carpenters glue.
Thanks for the help. |
RE: Glue storage
If the CA isn't open, then you can freeze it. Do not freeze carpenter's glue. It keeps a long time. I've had some that was good for years. Same with epoxy. It stays good a long time. The only glue that really has a shelf life is CA. The cooler it is, the better, but if it's open you can't put it in your fridge I don't think. maybe you can, but I think it would cause condensation to form in the bottle.

Thanks for the quick reply. I guess my best solution would be to start another project and just use it up. ;)

RE: Glue storage
Only need to put the opened or unopened in the refrig. no need to freeze. I've kept all three speeds that were opened for over a year using the humidity free crisper section. Just make sure little hands don't get hold of it from there. The foam safe Ca's require this more than the standard types. Seems like the foam safe Ca shelf life is measured in hours not days

RE: Glue storage
I import a user friendly CA from Australia and keep it in the freezer right next to the Venison. I always have a lot of it as I sell it and have found that this is the best way to store large amounts.

RE: Glue storage
Hey Art,
How much do you get for your venison? I'll take a couple of good steaks, and a couple bottle of medium CA please. :D Dennis- |
RE: Glue storage
Well for 2 Oz's it's $9.95 plus shipping <snicker> but the venison, well let's just say that I will think of you the next time I cook up a steak!!!!!![>:];)

RE: Glue storage
I had an unopened bottle of thin CA (don't recall the brand) split open in the freezer. Fortunately it was sitting in a plastic dish and didn't make that much mess.
