Cad Program for Building Models
 

Anyone in this forum ever work with a cad program to transfer or design a new plane?
was just curious, was a thought I had.
Solid Works is pretty great for designing, I use it at home and work.
You can design in the ribs and structures and see it in 3d form and rotate it, graphics,
put it into motion, everything except put it in a windtunnel.

Still early for me to design a plane, but it was just a thought for the future.
Just curious is all.
any experiances welcomed.

Yea. I have Solid Works Origin or something like that

I have autocad, autodesk Inventor, and RCCad.

RCCad is a cheapo app that does nada.

I think a good one would be the ViaGrafix ModelCAD. Tower has it for 45.

Yes Modelcad is still being made. Check out RCM and other magazines they have ads for them. Turbocad is available as a free download. They offer a full trial version with no limits. it is intended to get you to use the program then buy the full blown version. Just type in IMSI in your favorite search engine. It should lead you to the web site to download it. According to members here it is the single most used freeware program. I have it installed in my machine but have never used it yet. I do it the old fashioned way. With pen and pencil. Of course I kinda knew Moses's first cousin so that tells you where i come from. I am an old fart and don't always do things the easy or modern way, LOL.
