TT Pro 40 Muffler
Does anybody out there know if the TT Pro 40 and TT Pro 46 take the same muffler. They look the same, but looks are deceiving.

RE: TT Pro 40 Muffler
i don't have one, but i have never seen a .40 and a .46 in the same line of engines made by the same people with dfferent crankcases. so, you can pretty well assume that the crankcase is the same, which means same bolting holes and patterns. in short, i'd bet money on it. even shorter. yes

Hey Tan from what I have read here they are the same. I also have read that the Tower Hobbies muffler off their brand 45 is a tuned muffler of sorts. it is supposed to fit the TT motors and give a decent performance increase. They are also listed in the cataloge for less than 20.00$. I hope this helps. Check in the engine section here. There are lots of threads along this line. I hope this helps.

Yeah, they're the same crankcase and will take the same muffler. (Same bolts hole pattern)
The Tower.46 muffler will add about 800 or so RPM to a TT, but nothing is for free and the increased rpm also means increased fuel consumption. (Shorter flights.) You will have to reset the high speed needle as well. The Magnum XL series probably benefits the best with the Tower Muffler, in excess of 1,000 rpm gain. |
RE: TT Pro 40 Muffler
Yes, they are definitely the same muffler....I have both. And yes, these guys are right, the Tower Hobbies muffler also fits, and is a much cheaper alternative ($14 or $15 I think). I changed the muffler on my Phoenix Sukhoi with a TT Pro .46 from stock to the Tower muffler, and although I didn't measure the RPM gain, I did notice a performance gain. I'm thinking of putting a Tower muffler on my Ultra Stick .40 with a TT Pro .46 also.
