Buddy Box ?

Hey Guys,
I have an old Pre narrow band Futaba AM radio and will be replacing it with an 6exa. Can the AM tx be used as a Buddy Box on the 6EXA?

There is a link of capable buddy boxes in the Futaba range.

Note that the 6EXA has the "New" Trainer cord (Square plug).

Also sold a am because it didn't have an opening for a buddy box connection.

The old AM radios had slightly different connections than the newer FM radios.

I did modify an old AM to be used as a buddy box. Not simple to do. I removed the tx board and battery. Then had to make a minor cicruit change. Also the old AM radios used a different servo center standard, so I had to readjust the timing.

Not recommended. Too much work as you can pick up a TX only real cheap.

Find someone who wants a flight pack. Buy a cheap radio, give him the rx/servos and take the TX.

Or just get the buddy box for $45: http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...?&I=LXLV14&P=7
