My first flight and first plane
 

Local club was getting together on Jan. 1 to do some flying and i was invited to come out so i went. It was great looking at all the planes and talking to some of the guy's there. I didnt know i was going to get to fly with the trainer, it was fun and the trainer said i done very good for my first time.
So being the pilot that i am i went out and bought a park flyer friday.
Charged it up and headed to the airfield ( back yard ) . Made two great landings in pine trees. On my third atempt it was over the tree's and the wind got up ..... Well i ended up wet up to my waste ( 40 something degree's ) and found it about 500 yrds. from the landing strip across the swamp. Amazed i was able to find it.
So i desided i needed a bigger airport, so i went to a friends house up the road that has a bigger field and was doing pretty good, only one pine tree landing and one retreveal out of the top of a 40 ft. gum tree.
It's funny i didnt know when the little wire hanging out the back touched a high tention power line that the motor would rev to 10,000 rpm's and you couldnt control it any more. It made circles for about 10 mins. going higher and higher till i think the air got to thin for it.
The last time i seen it , it must have been a 1/2 mile away and still getting it. LOL..
Oh well, the first $125.00 you throw away just makes you a little smarter on the next one.

Enjoyed your story,but wouldn't it be easier to join the club with an instructor?:D

Join the club, spend $270-$300 on a new rig and enjoy yourself.

If nothing else, it sounds like you're having fun! ;) And that's what this is all about.

Not sure what you're ultimately hoping to get out of this, if it's glow power and a club, you know what you need to do; if it's flying in your back yard, look at the GWS Slow Stick, Pico Cub, or Tiger Moth. (Slow Stick can use full size servos and receiver, the other two need micro equipment.) Most "Park Flyers" need a minimum of about 100 by 100 feet, and that's just to continuously cirlce.

OK so i read your story then i ended up spitting soda out my nose ause i laughed so hard when i read the powerline part....very funny. Get a real plane though and join the club. This is a hobby that never gets boring. Even still my plane is all set to go flying right now, but its to cold out and windy, So i'll just take stuff apart. Ya know, re-center servos, make travels bigger, whatever. There is always something to do! Between RCU and my plane, I am never bored! lol thanks for the story though, very funny.
