I agree go with FMS it is free..I have been using it for about 3 mths now and I alos design Planes for use with it..They have a nice start on the program..Why spend hundreds of $$ for something else.

I paid $200 for Realflight G2. I know that's a lot of $$ but I wouldn't take $1000 for it if I couldn't get another one. The graphics are good and the flights are realistic. I probably could have gotten the same features in a freebie, but I have more money than I do sense I suppose.

For free, FMS rocks. Get a pic serial interface for $18 and you're set.

The bomb IMO is AFP. It has made me a MUCH better flyer.

G2 and AFP might both be overkill if you just need stick time.

FMS is a good simulator. The only thing that's not realistic is take off and landing. You will also find hundreds of models on the web by searching "FMS".

I have about 150 different models, some of the models came with FMS, the rest of the models have been picked up on the web.

Yes RealFlight G2 make cost some money, but it honestly has paid for itself MANY times over. I tried FMS first and it just looks hokey (sorry FMS programmers, I know it wasn't easy to program). Also RF G2 has a great number of features that FMS doesn't. That's why one is free & one isn't. IMO you get what you pay for.

RealFlight G2 - It has done wonders for me. Lots of options, great graphics and will play your MP3's while you fly!

Brooks and Dunn - Nitro scootin' boogie!

You can get real flight G2 lite for much cheaper. It will do a good job of getting you ready for your first meeting with your instructor. I got a used version of G2 lite on ebay for a good deal.

I don't know for sure, but I know I found it by simply searching for FMS on the internet. You'll find it.

Go to this site.
Matt makes and sells the interfaces that go between your PC and transmitter for around $25 shipped, and he includes FMS on a CD.

You can also download FMS from their website (Search "FMS") and use your keyboard, but it won't help much with getting your fingers ready. ;)

Take a look at EBAY http://search.ebay.com/ws/search/Sal...acategory=2562

Thats what I did last winter and when it came time for me to really fly I was very comfortable and I had no orientation problems. FMS will help you with that. That is the biggest obstacle that you can overcome when learning to fly, orientation that is.

If you want to see the Real Flight Sim just go to your local Hobby Store I'm sure they have one running. But for less than $50 FMS will teach you everything you need to get started.
