I crashed my first plane!!!
 

Hey all,

Today I went out to the flying field for a mid-week flying session. My instructor wasnt there but another guy was there with his .20 Hotpot 54(you might have heard of it) three channel trainer which I flew. I was flying nice figure of eights when another kid came up and started talking to me, I lost concentration and came in too low. The other guy told me to open the throttle so I did but tried to turn as I was going over the pits. It dropped to the ground and the ground came up to claim it!!:D:D

The damage wasnt serious but the guy said it would be a 5 min job with cyano.[&o]

Yes sir, happened to me also when I was learning, but busted mine up enough it took a good 2 hours with the CA and some added braceing. Once you have 30 flights or so you will find you can talk to your buddies and still fly. Good luck the next time out and be sure to check everything including a range check before flying again.

When my instructor trained me he always talked to me during the flights. This way I would learn to keep my concentration on the plane even though other things are going on. This really helps preventing a crash from loss of concentration but when i crashed my first plane it was the result of a servo failure on the elevator. No amount of concentration can bring that one back :D

I crashed my first plane 3 times. It is going to happen. The last two crashes I was on a buddy cord. Instructor thought I was too close to a tree pulled up and hit it. Lost the tail feathers. Thrid crash same thing only wing was destroyed. It will be back in the air this spring. :) Just get it put back together and get back up in the air. Nothing worthwile comes without sacrafices.

Sounds like a run of some bad luck. That aside, if your instructor is letting you fly into trees I'd suggest a new instructor real quick! That shouln't be happening.

I got too close to the trees on approach. By the time he took over it was too late to correct. My depth perception is not what is should be, but am learning.

Yup good day if it came home in one peace. i flew for the first tim yesterday and did pretty well. so it was a good day
