Nexstar Auto System

Does anyone know if I have one of the AFS wires connected to my RX that only half of the AFS was working or do they both have to be plugged in for them both to work. I would be interested to know because I just realized yesterday that one wire was connected, and after a crash on sunday I disconnected both of them and now my plane wants to bank right. ANy thoughts??

The best advice I can give is take that AFS system out and get a good instructor. The airplane is a great flying airplane and trainer but the AFS is not reliable. I have seen 3 Nextars hit the dirt under the supervision of our best instructors. My LHS has advised it customers that it will no longer carry the Nexstar because of the AFS system failures. Put a regular Futaba RX in the plane and get a real instructor to help you learn and you will be much more successful.

My guess is that the trim is off on your plane and it always ants to bank to the right. You never got to experience this when the AFS was active because it would automatically counter-act it.

Now you know what the plane really flies like, and you are a step ahead.

I was asking if both wires need to be connected to work or if only one wire was connected would only half of the system work.

I did not have the intention of using it. And I have made many successful flights and landing, and I just ordered my second plane to build.

Both wires need to be unplugged to disable the AFS. Mine are both unplugged. Sounds like a trim problem. Also make sure your control surfaces are level. When i first put mine together the elevator was straight on one side and the other was 1/8 in off. They sent me a new elevator.

hummmm....BOTH have to be plugged in to work - I'll buy that, but if only ONE is plugged in I though it wasn't working - at least that is how the plane responded!
