Servo Horn Question...
 

I am just about finished with my Super Sportster MKII and I have a few simple questions.

1) My Futaba radio came with 4 standard servos. Will they be good enough for the Super Sportster?

2) The servos only came with the round disk type servo horns. Will these be acceptable or should I go out and spring for the ones that look like a big '+'?

3) The SuperSportster kit came with a teeny tiny ball and cup set up for the throttle linkage (to the motor/carb). I didn't like how tiny the threaded end was for the ball (it threads through the throttle arm on the carb and you back it with a small nut.) Anyway... it looked like it would break so I purchased a metal (DuBro) clevis. Is this a bad idea? I read in the AMA mag that metal to metal on the carb linkage is a bad idea - as it might cause glitching.

Spring for the X type horns, I find them easy.
Your servos will do the job.
Sounds like the old ball & cup will work. Just put some blue loctite on the nut.

Don't use a metal clevis on a metal carb throttle arm. In fact, don't use metal to metal anywhere else, for that matter. It can indeed cause glitching. Use a nylon clevis on the throttle unless your throttle arm happens to be plastic.

You can use the round servo arms if you can get the throws you need on the flying surfaces. The ball and cup should work ok, sa there is no resistence on throttle. Do not use metal to metal anywhere on your plane, as it will cause glitching.
