Waiting!

3 more days....72 hours....4320 minutes....259200 agonizing seconds....until I get my first crack at flying my very own glow powered r/c airplane. I have put several weeks of prep time into building and finishing my airplane and have consulted as many people, both on-line and offline, as I can find with experience in the hobby. Trying to find out everything and anything I can possibly do to give my plane every conceivable chance of survival in the two stumbling paws I call hands. Servo placement, engine mounting, throttle linkage, throws, clevises, push-rods, hinges, batteries, trims, balance, laterals..the list goes on and on. [X(] The old adage, "Time flies when your having fun", now seems like, "Time Stops when your not flying!" I just hope the weather cooperates for my first day of flying. [8D]

And I DO hope you have an instructor, or at least a couple hundred hours on a good sim. You said

everything and anything I can possibly do to give my plane every conceivable chance of survival
Well, an instructor is the BEST thing you can do. ;)

Good Luck, and have fun!

I have been killing my PC with sim practice and I have a great instructor lined up to help me get the plane trimmed and stable, plus school me in the aspects of flying. It just seems like sheer torture to have to wait this long to have that much fun! :D

You think it's bad now? Wait till you have flown, then have to go back to work on Monday. The next weekend will seem to take 3 times as long to get here! LOL

Primodus I know How you feel. About two months ago I met these guys In my SMALL town that were into Flying Big time, they took me out to the flying field with them And I got to see them fly for the first time Man I tell you I am 34 years old And I felt like I was 12 again. I thought Man this is what I needed, so I rushed home and bought the first cool plane I could find On RCUNIVERSE form (trkpony) I got a great deal on a real nice plane radio gear and all the full set up. Well a little over ancious I bought a low wing Thunder Tiger Champion A great second or third plane soooo when My buddies heard what I done they decided to help me get the right one so we decided to go to a swap meet a couple weeks away that was agony too ! anyway I got a Great trainer (Hanger 9 Extra easy ) and radio gear and ever since its been too cold or too windy this is torture The Guys have been building there winter projects getting ready for spring and Im stuck here in limbo getting sim time and spending every wakeing hour learning from you guys ! Thats my story and Im sticking to it ! good luck and let us know how it goes ! :D Mike

Best of luck and enjoy yourself. As for the anxious jitters chew some gum. If that doesn't work try banging your head off the walls. It has always worked for me. I guess that's why I'm so goofy.

Thanks for the vote of confidence all [8D] This weekend is all set for some great flying, partly sunny, mid-high 50's, little or no wind. And, my instructor has promised to dedicate his whole day, with an early start, to helping me get my feet off the ground.

P.S. mstroh3961...It's too late! ;)
