Engine mount question?????
1 Attachment(s)
Hi All,
I am mounting an OS 40 in a Scanner and find that the engine mount holes are not in line with those of my OS 40. Should I: 1. Redrill another set of holes in the mount that already exists? 2. Screw the metal brackets supplied (in photo below) onto the engine bracket and then redrill into these engine brackets for my OS 40? 3. Find an engine mount to suit an OS 40 (but then I may need to redrill the bulkhead)? Thanks for any help. Langfire |
RE: Engine mount question?????
You don't have the original hold down straps for the mount ?
If not, I'd use the front holes on the mount, then drill the two new rear holes for the straps in photo. No need to buy and reinstall a new mount. I may not understand the question, but the engine doesn't screw directly to the mount, it is simply pinched under the hold-down straps to allow adjusting of thrust angle. |
RE: Engine mount question?????
Thanks rreiss,
I see now. I had never secured my engine that way before but I see the advantages of "pinching" the mount of the engine to the plane engine mount. Cheers Langfire |
