Redrilling the engine mount

I ended up screwing up on my engine mount and had to redrill the holes to move the engine forward. the new holes are about 1/4" from the old ones. its a stock mount that came with my great planes 182 arf, gunna hold an OS .46 FX. Do i have anything to worry about as far as the mount failing?

Flydenfeld - A lot of people redrill their mounts. I can't say how secure it is because I'd rather be safe and buy a new one. The only time I'll keep the mount is if the engine is moved back on the mount so there are no holes in the arms behind it. It's probably ok to use, but I don't like taking the chance.

There should be no problem....many of my mounts have 8 holes in them - just as long as the holes aren't real close to each other - now go fly :)

OR fill the old holes with JB weld, if the new holes are WICKED close to the old ones or if the new ones are right on top of the old ones. JB Weld can be drilled!:D I wasted an engine mount by drilling the holes too far right, then I got some JB weld and filled it in. I just redrilled it a while ago.
