RE: Check list

Phicks there are innumerable ways to do a check list. It is up to you as to what to check and in what order. I will just give you some suggestions.

Try: checking wing bolts or bands, exhaust/engine mount tightness.battery voltage, control surfaces for tightness, control surface proper operation (left tight up and down),radio range check, wheel collars and tightness, fuel filled, needle valve settings, wind direction and speed, general airframe worthiness, nose gear or tail wheel and alignment, condition of covering, tightness of all accessories, servo hardware for tightness, visual inspection, antennae inspection

These are just some suggestions, some you do before flight some after some both. It looks like a lot but you will be surprized how little time it takes once you have a system in place. It must also be done every flight. Or the whole proceedure will be wasted.

I am talking about the engine check list. What you have to do for the engine.[&:][>:][>:][>:]

RE: Check list

startup:

1) check prop condition
2) check that the prop is securely attached (remove muffler and carb plugs if used)
3) fill tank... watch for leaks.
4) prime engine (can be a few drops fuel down the CARB or choke till you see the fuel get to the carb. (it will inject some)
5) flip prop a couple of times
6) connect glow
7) start engine (you gotta know how to do it safely...)

Go fly.

Put it away:

1) connect muffler line to carb line on the fuel tank. (keeps air out... less chance of contaminating any remaining fuel... no chance of remaining fuel dripping)
2) connect glow
3) spin it with the starter to get remaing fuel burned out of the engine.
3a) some people like to put some after run oil in... no real need if you fly every week.
4) plug carb and muffler (you can buy plugs... or use some cap off of somethng that fits or just use a piece of paper towel. Keeping the dirt out is main purpose.)

Go to www.acsmagnum.com/lsk

Under the getting started section, download the Novice RC Guide.pdf. There is a whole section on preflight checks.

RE: Check list

Break you checklst up into 2 parts I do my plane checklst at home the night before, I choose a plane to fly the next day and it goes into the on deck hanger(so to speak) I start at the front of the plane grab prop, spinner, muffler are they tight where the motor mounts tight?visually check fuel lines and throttle cable, then keep moving your way back to the tail, check all servos and servo horns, AND RODS, visually check all wires leading to receiver as you get to the tail DO A HINGE CHECK and get personal with your model rub your hands all over the covering looking for loose seams, grab wheels, landing gear, every clevis rod ect....I guarantee your plane wont slap you for all the touching and rubbing!!!!!hehehehe just don't try this with the check out girl at the grocery Yakes!!!!!

Next do the wings and within just a few min you are done, has this saved any of my planes YES I can't tell you how many loose motors, mufflers and props I have found not to mention loose SERVOS, loose wires, and broken hinges. Saved many planes this way.

Just get into the HABIT of doing it every time!!!!!!!!!that the most important thing FORMING A HABIT.
