Sig Koverall question

Can Sig Koverall be applied wet (damp) like tissue? If so what's the procedure? Same as tissue? What I'd like to do is put it on with a water based product such as polycrylic or varathane as I don't have a well ventilated work area to use dope.

Thanks,

RE: Sig Koverall question

The reason for wetting silk or silkspan before application is to promote shrinkage. Koverall is a polyester fabric so it is not as susceptible to shrinkage due to being wet but it is highly susceptible to heat. This means that you can attach the covering to the framework with whatever method you choose then hit it with a heatgun to shrink it. After that, you can seal the fabric using whatever you wish.

RE: Sig Koverall question

I suggest that if you don't have a well ventilated area so that you can use dope, that you stick to a prefinished iron-on film or fabric. I don't think you will gain much from using Koverall if you don't use a dope finish.
