I have got a great Beginners Guide in pdf format on my website. It is not mine, but i found it on the net.

Hmmm... I'm really going to go and look at yours (which for all I know could be a hacker site with a trojan waiting to DL... since you come right out and say you SWIPED the guide...) When there are GREAT guides at reputable sites such as:

www.rcfu.com (about the best. and done by the guy that actually owns the site.)

I understand that you are posting the article to help people, but the point others in this thread are trying to make is that when somebody writes something, it is copyrighted by law. That means you can't just grab anything you see and post it on your site without permission. It's not legal.

If you e-mail the webmaster where you got the guide from, he may give you permission to post it or he might ask you to simply post a link to his site. But you shouldn't just take other people's work and post it on your site without their permission.

BTW - If a copyright notice is not posted, it is still copyrighted. The notice is optional and doesn't change anything.
