I don't see why would any one recommend against this plane, it is a superb plane!
I started flying last seaon, been flying about 2 months before I got it and without thinking twice i striped my trainer and had the somethin' extra ready to fly, landed it myself on the second approch with no problem, and i'm not saying that i'm a great pilot, it's the plane, very very forgiving.

I guess a lot of times people lean to the conservative side when giving advice in here. I guess everyone is different. I hope I am happy with my four star. I think I will be. I seen a couple vids, but never seen one fly. Looks like it will be the difference between night and day from the LT 40. I can't wait it fly it. I want to build another plane now because there is nothing better to do with this weather.

my friend has a 4* and he is very pleased with it, I know you will be too, anything after the trainer is oh so much better.
and I know what you mean, I was so bored this winter I already built my first glider Gental Lady, and now in the process of building SU-27 by AKM which I purchased on ebay along with 3 other kits which should arrive any day (hey I wonder whats going on with that, they should have been here already)
so I think i'm set for this winter, I just hope i'll have enough winter to finish building them all.

I got back into the hobby after a 2 year absence. Started with this T-34 from Hanger 9. Very sweet plane. Flies nice and has retracts. Going to make a video this weekend of it doing its thing in the air.

Ed;)

Here are a few of my favorites:

The first is a Great Planes .20 Cub with a clipped wing (engine and radio removed, but otherwise flyable).
The second is a Great Planes Super Decathalon powered by an Enya .50CX.
The third is a Great Planes RV-4 powered with an OS .46 FX.
The fourth is a scratch built Corbin Baby Ace D powered by an OS .40 FS.

Hey wings,

Either plane would have been ok IMO. I had a nexstar for 3 weeks b4 I got my SE kit. I flew it the other day for the first time and it is more forgiving on landing than my nexstar, even in nasty wind. The trainer would float too much with a little elev. The SE just glided on in for a 3 point landing. My best landing to date with any plane was with the SE. My buddy got a 4* and was doing good also until he flew across the sun and put nose down, but tht was his mistake not the planes. Good luck with it, youll love it.

I will post a pic of my SE when I get a chance.

You have to have a website, then link it to your website.

I wish RCU had enough space for people to post their vids, that would rock!

I realize vids are big files, but it seems they could have a place where you could post them and they only stay posted for maybe a day, then automatically deleted. Or get deleted as space alloted runs out, in the reverse order they were posted. Just a thought.

Maybe Minnflyer will campaigned for us?[sm=idea.gif]

Here is my ultra stick. It flies really good. I got my courage up and tried the crow out. It really comes in slow using the crow. Notice the rain droplets. No lead anywhere and it balanced perfectly.

Here's a some of mine. The 4*60 has a Mario Bobble head doll as the pilot. After many modifications of course. The Ultra Stick 60?...well I just realized this is the only digital pic that I have of it. Actually, I have another just like this one. I replaced this one using the same electronics and engine. I like the Ultra Stick and plan to always have one in my collection.

Here's my trainer, and my friend/instructor Steven with his 1.50 size Lanier giant Stinger with a Brison 3.2, JR PCM receiver, Hitec servos, and JR 8103 controlling it. This is his first gasser. I also attached a pic of Steven's biplane, and I forget what it's called. It has blue/white checkering on the bottom of both wings. It looks awesome! It has a Supertigre .90 in it tuned by yours truly. [8D]
