Wheel Wells
 

I'm completing a Goldberg Tiger 60 Deluxe which has retracts.

Any suggestions on the best way to finish the wheel wells? Paint or film?

I'm using Ultracoat on the rest of the wing. Lustrecoat paint of the same color (yellow) seems to be a bit darker than the film.

Thanks for any ideas.

well you didn't say if they were plastic or if you were building the wells out of wood so i am going to asume they are wood.seal them with a thined mix of resin or epoxy and then paint them flat black if plastic litely sand and then spray them black with a testers plastic model paint they shouldn't need fuel proofing under there

Styro or plastic "picnic" cups can be cut to form wheel wells. [img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-wink.gif[/img] Saves a lot of work VS making the well from balsa. The styro and plastic are already fuel resistant too.

I tend to paint the inside of my wheel wells the same color as the aircraft skin in the area of the wheel well. For scale military aircraft... there's a greenish primer color that is often appropriate, or grey or... (any color you think is right for your model is what you should use)
