How about this ?
Won a lottery ticket... has nothing to spend on....:D How about this JR Propo 9x PCM computer radio.... landed in Singapore. Transmitter + receiver + battery + charger + 4 servo USD $500.

RE: How about this ?
If you are SURE that you will stay with the hobby, this would be a system that you'd never outgrow; otherwise I think the winnings could be spent for a lower level radio and a couple of planes and engines for the same money.

RE: How about this ?
If you are a beginner... get a lesser system.
The 4 ch FM radio systems come with servos and RX and battery equal to an airborne pack for the better radio. the cost of an airborne package deal is almost the same as the cost of the full system. If you stick with it... buy the better radio and... you can designate the older 4 ch TX as a buddy box. Just get the new system on the same frequency. **** If you already have flown a few planes... thats a hard system to beat. :D |
RE: How about this ?
I agree, too much radio too soon can be very confusing.
99% of your average fliers would never use 90% of what that radio can do. Spend the money more wisely (Like, buy a second plane and engine :D ) |
RE: How about this ?
Have to agree. Don't just spend money to spend it. If you are interested in the hobby and don't know enough about it that you have to ask, then you would be way ahead to find a club and actually see whats there and have someone help you pick the right gear so you don't waste money. No reason to spend money just to spend money. Theres enough people trying to get into your pockets as it is.

Never mind.

RE: How about this ?
Go for it and splurge.
You deserve to spoil yourself! Now I would by an island with the winnings, but I would settle for the transmitter. |
RE: How about this ?
I would say the comuter radio idea is a good one,BUT. I feel the choice is inapropriate. A nice 6 channel job would do it just fine. Most of the new 6 and 7 channel radio's can do PCM if you want it later. All you need is a PCM reciever and flight pack. Use the extra money to buy another plane and motor. Good luck and I'm Jelouse. I never win the damn lottery.

If you want a computer radio and you are new to this, try this radio instead-Hitec Prism 7xsp w/flight pack. $220.00 + shipping. (new in box). http://lankel.com/hipr167xwppr.html . I have one of these and I love it.
