How good is the Right Flyer 60

I want to know how good the Right Flyer 60 is for a trainer.

It is a very good trainer, and capable of some basic aerobatics and inverted flight due to it's semi-symmetrical wing, rather than the high-lift flat-bottomed wing found on most trainers.
Due to it's size, it flies as well as a flat-bottomed 40 sized plane.

I have one; it's a great airplane. One of our club instructors (http://www.greenvillerc.com) is a pattern flyer. He took the plane on its maiden flight, and after about a minute of 'getting the feel for it', started taking it through the moves he does in competition. It's not set up for that, and is definitely not the right shape for pattern flying, but he says it is a very capable plane once I learn to fly it.

Mine has a TT-61 Pro for power. With a Master Airsrew 12X6 "K Series" prop, it's capable of flying pretty fast, and it slows down pretty well too. With the 11x7 that's recommended for the engine, mine floats forever on a calm hot day. My favorite prop on this combination is the APC 13x4W "3D Fun Fly Series", but at $8 each I need to get a lot better at landing before I use them any more.

I crashed and broke the horizontal stabilizer off, and damaged the wing a little, around the first of the year. I'll repair it, but it will be a while before I do. I've just completed my first kit, a Great Planes PT-60, and hope to get soloed out on it. Once I'm decent at landing the PT-60, I'll get the Right Flyer going again.
