Covering?!?
Ok,
I just started covering my Lt-40 it is looking.. ok.. but i know it could look better. Do you guys having tips for me? How do i shrink the material so that its tight and there are know rinkles(sp)lol. Thanks for all your help!! |

There are lots of threads in here on how to cover airframes and lots of books out there with various ways to do it. You did not say what you are covering it with. Monocoat? Ultracoat? Silk and dope ? Silkspan? dacron? Litespan?.......................the list goes on and on.

Yea alot of tips can help but theres no substitute for experiance.

My local hobbie shop loaned me a video from CG on covering that helped me lots.

I'm covering one right now with Monokote. Even though I've covered many airplanes and have gotten good at it I was a bit rusty and the first couple of parts didn't look so good. Then I got back in the swing and they are coming out better now. Like the man says, "practice, practice".
It has to look just about perfect even before you shrink it so tack the corners and if it don't look right, untack, pull and retack until it does, then go around pulling and securing all the edges. |
