How many planes do you own

Just wanted to know the average number of planes people keep. I just went solo with my Superstar. Plan to sit with it for about 6 months, then move on. But there are so many planes that I want...ending wth moving into JETS!!![8D] Also any suggestions for a good 2nd plane.

Well, I FLY three, but my Dad bought two, and my Papa (grandfather) bought the third one. As far as I am concerned, this is the right way to go :D

I got a four* .40 four my second nitro plane. From the people I talked to, it can be a very easy plane to fly, and can get you well on your way to acrobatics. I can also use my trainers engine :)

Congrats for going solo! Feels like I will never get there[X(]

One of the favourites here is the SIG Four Star Series. THey have three different scales to chose from depending on what engine you want. Theres a .40, .60 and 1.20.

Lots of people also like the the Bruce Tharpe Venture .60, by the way he also designed the SIG 4 star 40 series I think.

I agree with you that theres tonnes of planes that I would like. All I need to do is win the lottery a few times:D

I have 3. A Thunder Tiger Sport Trainer, Super Sporster 40 and a Cap232.
Consider the TTST or the SS40 before you try the more advanced aerobatic types like the Cap.

Only money, space and a wife keep me from owning more.

Flying:
Piper J3 Cub, Super Sportster, Four Star 40, Dynaflite Mustang, Decathlon, Cermark Bobcat, and a small trainer; plus a GWS Cub and a GWS Tiger Moth (both small electrics). A Simple 400 electric and a Super Sportster Biplane in need of minor repairs, and a 1/2A Corsair that needs finishing.

I have a Top Flight 81" Cessna 182 waiting to be covered, a Great Lakes Bipe also waiting for covering, a Pica 1/12 scale Mustang half done, and a .40 size Tucano that needs engine and electronics installed, and a 25 size Mr. Mulligan that needs the same.

For kits waiting to be built; I have a Phaeton biplane, a Skybolt biplane, a Top Flight Corsair, a Balsacraft Sea Fury, a 2 meter glider (forget the name), and a few other kits I can't seem to remember.

There are a LOT of planes I still want! ;)

i have a hobbico superstar that is in the shop undergoing repairs. i also have a great planes super sportster which is a very fun and aerobatic plane to fly. its easy to land also i would highly recommend it as a second airplane. the hard part was switching from a tricycle setup to a tail dragger.

Four ready to fly(just charge the batteries, gas 'n' go)... one in need of the onboard electronics and motor, one on the building board...and a few mismatched pieces as a result of mechanical failures(the nut holding the transmitter!)

I have been told you never actually "OWN" a model airplane, you just have it on a open end lease from Mother Earth and one day She will come and take it back:eek:

I think I'm starting to believe this.

Actually, I lost my all-time favorite plane last year. But it wasn't Mother Earth who took it. It was the Sky. :(

I don't think there's any worse feeling in the world than turning off your transmitter knowing that your plane is still up there someplace. The only consolation is the hope that it might come down ok and you'll get it back. When Mother Earth takes charge you find out on the spot what the outcome is. :)
