I've heard good things about yellow aircraft, but don't have any personal experience.

I would try to guide you away from a P-47 as your first plane. Get a good trainer plane. Even better yet, a good USED trainer plane from someone at your club. You will get a better deal and won't feel as bad if you ding it up. The trainers are MUCH easier to fly.

The P-47 is very cool, but save that for your second or even third plane.

Good luck
Mike

The biggest mistake people make in this hobby is starting out with a plane they are not ready for. When it comes to flying R/C, you MUST learn to walk before you learn to run.

Start out with a good 40 or 60 size trainer. Learn to fly. THEN go wherever you want to go.

Hey dragon slayer,
You can go ahead and buy the P-47 for your first plane if you want to but before you bring it to the field to fly it just go in your front yard and jump up and down on it and save yourself the trip. Warbirds are not for beginners, I know I know they look cool but they are a handful. Listen to the above advice get a trainer learn to fly and when you can fly a low wing with confedence go buy a warbird. Don't buy one before then or you'll end up giving into temptation and you'll be sorry.
