Hinges

It’s been to many years since I have built a plane. I can not remember the best steps regarding hinge installation.

Is it like this?

Glue in hinges and then cover

Or
Cover surfaces and then glue hinges

Please help [:-]

I am no expert but, I cover then hinge. Seems to look better in the end, and a bit easier than triming the TE to fit the hinge. The CA hinge still absorbs the thin CA regardless if covered or not. Just my .02

Cover first, then hinge. You might want to consider covering the fuselage, stabilizer, and fin before gluing them. Be sure to trim away the covering of the stabilizer where it contacts the slot in the fuselage.

If you try to cover the stabilazer after it was glued in place, it would be more dificult.[8D]

And if you're using CA hinges, read this:
