trainer rebuild (going good)

HI all, just wanted to share a quick pic of my repair to my beloved trainer, ( my first i got 2
years ago, its a 12 year old Hobbico Flightstar, at the end of my first flying season,
I toasted it into the ground , and felt very sad for the thing , so after it lanquished for awhile in
pieces, I decided to repair it , more for experience than anything, so far i've replaced the first
14 inches of fus, by splicing new front end to remaining end of fus , going to make it a taildragger, i picked this plane up used, for 30 bucks, looked like crap, but i got 100 flights out of
it, till it crashed, previous owner put about 400 on it, so its had a good long life , and hopefully
will continue to keep on going. its amazing what a bandsaw can do lol and other tools
also, gotta love that Sig lite ply!!!!

Best Regards, ( and keep it safe!!!!)

RE: trainer rebuild (going good)

just wanted to say, sorry for crudepic of my repair, I simply laid that part and side of plane
on flatbed scanner., giving it a piece of shaped wood appearance, plane's rebuild is really in 3D
lol , with both side formers done, and attached to fuse with internal doublers , ( very strong, like
new) firewall is in, bottom is complete, fuel proofing is done, I'm now scratch building horizontal
stab, which is going very good , I'll try to get better pics of it with a conventional camera for
later!!!!!
