Be patient!!!
This message goes out to all like my friend Dave who jumped into this hobby head first by purchasing an Alfa Models P51 Mustang as his first plane. "Dave I said, start off with an easier plane like an aerobird or similar, something plastic with replacement parts!" A short time later a debris field of foam scattered througout the school yard, pilot never recovered. Dave buys an Aerobird. I fly with him and he is doing very well. Wants to fly tonight I tell him keep it close the wind is strong! yeah ok I will... Aerobird MIA. To all newbies wait for that light wind day, and start off with something made for begginers. I will have to talk Dave into staying in this hobby. Any words of encouragment from anyone will sure help him, please post! and good flying!

school Ace- what you told your freind is so right on. i am also fairly new in this hobbie.
I have so far in 1 1/2 months made tooth picks out of 2 fuses 1 set of wings 1 set of tail feathers in 7 flights reason= wind ,taking a chance when a rely new better but had the itch to fly thinking i could handle a little wind wrong wrong wrong!!! be patient and you will be much more happier with a good day of flying and comming home with a whole plane then a bag wood and such. trust me it gets old quick repairing or replaceing suff every time you go to the field and take chances with the wind if your a newbie at this its tough with out somebodys help thats what made it hard for me also real hard to get any inst, [training in this area] ?? the RFG2 sim is great for practice. NEVER GIVE UP its like fine wine only gets better with time!!!!! LATER! |

Prop-wash, thanks for reply, any kind words will help him. As for the flight sim, that is about the only advice he took from me. He bought the G2 months before his plane, which was both good and bad. He became so confident flying the P52 on the sim, that he went and made that his first plane. I have to add he is good at building, the plane was a work of art. I wish he would of snapped a pic before destroying it! Anyway flight sims are good, as long as you don't get over confident.
