AM vs. FM
Hi guys....Whit here.... Can an AM charger be used to charge an FM controller?

RE: AM vs. FM
As long as the voltage and mA hour ratings are right.
I assume you're talking about an FM transmitter with an 8 cell pack, so the wall charger should have an output of 9.6 volts, and 50 mA's. But! the transmitter battery can't be more than 500 or 600 mAH pack for it to work. Dennis- |

Also, be sure not to mix JR and non-JR chargers and TX's, the polarity of the plug is reversed.
But, I have several old JR chargers from some old AM systems, and I still use them on my new FM stuff now. A charger is a charger (for nicads anyway), as Dennis said, as long as the voltage and current (and polarity) are what you need, you'll be fine. |
