Servo popping sound
 

I noticed a popping sound coming from the Aileron servo while it was on and just sitting there,it's plugged in the right way and you cant plug it in wrong,brown to brown,yellow to yellow and it's a NES-527.I did take both rods loose from it but it still pops,when you move the fine adjustment sometimes it will stop but moving the stick it comes back.
Any help is appreciated

You'll want someone famliar with that servo model to actually listen to the nose. There is an occasional noise that could be considered normal in many servos.

I know when the servo's are at rest they should be quiet,or at least the rest of them are,when moving the sticks on the tx they make noise but if it's at rest and it's making noise it could be running the battery down ?.

The first thing I would try would be to disconnect the linkage and see if it still does it.

I am wondering if the popping sound might be a gear with broken teeth slipping when it gets to the bad spot. Take the servo apart and carefully examine the teeth on the gears.

In my first post, "I did take both rods loose from it but it still pops" ,maybe it's not a pop but it's making noise.

As stated, check the gears. If one tooth is missing, it will sit and chatter on that spot. I wouldn't fly it that way unless you know for sure it is good.

Ooops, missed that.

In that case, I'd go with the other suggestions and check the gears.

And if you can't figure it out, for the price of a new standard servo (What are they now, about 12 bucks?) replace it (Or at least switch it to your throttle servo)

I took the servo off and apart,everything looks good and even a little silicon in there ,after i reinstalled it,it didn't make any noise until i put the linkage on then it started to chatter again,after doing a lot of checking i thought the linkage was adjusted too short so i lengthened both sides 1/2 turn,then another 1/2,the noise went away but i had to readjust one side another 1/2 turn so the alerons were level,then when i thought everything was good,it starts to chatter but not too long now,a lot better, so i guess it's resetting itself,HOWEREVR i will have somebody else do the final checking.

You are turning your transmitter on before the receiver right? Never turn on the Rx before the transmitter, you can damage the servos.

You might also have a little binding in the aileron(s) themselves, which could cause the servo to "chatter". Chattering is usually the servo trying to center itself, and if there's binding anywhaere it will never quite center. (Broken tooth will also cause it, but you looked already.)

Is it a chatter or a buz? Some servos buz, is it moving the arm on it when it does it? Are the ailerons hanging up so it isn't centering right? Those are some of the things I would look at next.

Yes i have heard servos could be damaged so the tx is always turned on first,might of been some binding but they feel free,i think the linkage might of been too tight,maybe always been there and i just heard it today,i don't usually put the wing on when i run it around the yard so...
I cant tell if it is moving the arm,if it is,it's so slight i can't see it but i can move the fine adjustment and it will quit for a few seconds,i cant tell if it's a buzz or chatter,but if i had to guess i would say it's chatter.

Well, a "chatter (by my definition anyway) is when the servo moves back and forth in small very quick movements, while a "buzz" is just that, the servo buzzing, which can be caused by a bit of binding. With chattering you'd likely see very small control surface movements.

I would swap that servo out with one of the others, probably the throttle servo, and see if the problem is in the servo or the location.
