Distance between tank and engine
I have a K&B .65 Sportster engine in my 4*60, mounted on the very foward end of the stock mounts(for balance purposes). The distance from the needle valve to where the tube exits the fuel tank is about five inches. Is this too much? How can I figure out if it is too much?

RE: Distance between tank and engine
Nope 5" is pretty close actually... Just make sure the middle of the tank is level with the carb. and you'll be fine-
The best way to find out is to run it like that- Keep us posted! |
RE: Distance between tank and engine
I agree, 5" is pretty normal.
If you had lines that were a lot longer, the problem should show up in the engine's peformance, especially in the air. You'd likely see the engine quitting or lagging during fast throttle transition from low to full throttle. It would be similar to a rich low end needle but without the 'burble', the rpm's would just sag as the engine starved for fuel. Dennis- |
