Left Thrust?
 

Ok, I did the usual searches and found some good stuff on left thrust. I think I may have an issue with it on a 72" Cessna 172 I am finishing. When viewing from the pilot's POV, the engine seems to point to the port side of the aircraft just a little. Is there a quick and easy way to check for left thrust or right thrust without having an incidence meter? From what I have read, left thrust can be a disaster waiting to happen.

You can turn the prop to a horizontal position and run a string from a center point at the rear of the fuse to each prop tip. The shorter string will indicate which side the engine is facing. The center point must be accurate, and use a string that doesn't stretch, for this to be effective.

And if it DOES need correcting, a few washers between the back of the mount (On the left side only) and the firewall will fix it

If you want to know how much thrust you have in degrees. Use the string method and divide half the propeller diameter into the difference between the two lengths (left and ride side propeller from the vertical fin). This will give you the sin of the angle. Take the arcsine and you will have the angle in degrees

Im new in this hobby, I went to the field yesterday and somebody told me that I need to add right thrust. I have a Hobbico Nexstar, The engine is already "leaning" to the right. How do I determine the amount of thrust need it?:(

The NExtsar is prebuilt and the engine is preinstalled. In other words it should be fine the way it is. You say that you can notice that engine is already "leaning" to the right so it sounds like the right thrust is already built in for you. Has the plane flown yet? If it has and no problems were noted, then don't try to fix what isn't broken! ;)
