Engine Size for this plane ????

1 Attachment(s)
Hi Guys,

I picked this plane up for next to nothing its not the most attractive model as you can see but it will be fine for learning a few new moves and not having to worry if it meets the earth :)

I was told it was a Miniture Aircraft Company Kit called the 'Flying Machine' the wingspan is 44 inches i wanted to know would anyone know what engine size this will take ????? and a rought idea of the control throws i should use for this ?

Any help would be helpful :)

Thx

depends on its weight and how you want it to fly?

Without knowing more I'd guess .40-.50 2s

Not sure of the weight yet, its very light as it has foam wings sheeted in a thin balsa and i want it a bit ballistic if possible :)

I would say a .40 2S would throw that plane around

A 44" wingspan? Then yes, I'd say a 40 wou;d be plenty.

Yep... .40 or .46, relatively low pitch long prop and go fly some 3D with it.

Definitevly NOT a trainer. If used as a trainer it will be toothpicks within seconds.

As far as control throws I would just eyeball it at first staying towards the conservative side then increase from there. I tried setting up a plane that was given to me with large throws thinking, "hey I can handle it" Wow was it a squirel, I was lucky to get it down. Lesson learned, start with small throws and move up. Now that they plane is trimmed out I have the throws back up to max and it is a lot of fun. I also think a 40 size engine would be more than plenty for that plane.
