Balancing KADET LT-40

How exactly balancing LT-40 is being done?
Whatever I try, the front points down...

I was trying to switch between the battery pack and the receiver, that didn't help as well...

When I was about to move the battery pack to the back of the servos (as the manual suggests) I found out the when I glued the rear support for the fuel tank (using CA thin), some glue got spilled on the antenna - which is now glued to the bottom from the inside... :( (so now, I can't pull the Rx out from its place under the fuel tank). I wouldn't mind to leave it glued as long as the plain is balanced and ready to fly... (All the servos are working as instructed in the manual).

What can I do?
I was thinking to take it to the field and try to find somebody experienced to give me a hand on this one...

I was planning to go this weekend and have it flying for the 1st time... I still hope I could do that...

Any suggestions?

Thank you in advance,
OG

LT-40

You can add some lead weight to the tail or rear of it till it comes in balance. I had one that the receiver and batt was in front of the servos and I didn't have any problems with the banlance. Also, you want to make sure you use the C.G. on the planes to balance it.

You can always cut the antenna wire free also. I mean, someday you're going to remove the receiver anyway right? You might as well do it now. I never ADD weight unless it's the only option.

antanna wire glued to floor?

OLDGURU, get some de-bonder from your LHS, put a few drop's on the glued down area , let sit a min. and start by wiping off excess glue and repeat till the wire is free .

LT Balance

I just had the same problem. I bought 1/2oz lead weights and put them in the tail end of the fuse with epoxy. Works great. The farther aft you can go, the less weight you need.

Good Luck :D

I'd leave the receiver there. Moving it, wont solve your balance issue. Doesnt weigh that much. But maybe you are saying your battery wire wont reach it if you dont move it. In that case you can put an extention on the battery wire or you may have to get the antenna wire out by cutting a bit of balsa it is glued to. Just be careful to not cut the wire.

Balancing KADET LT-40

I went to the field today. I met with my instructor that made all pre-flight checks and found it to be built just fine. It was also balanced well and there was no need to modify anything.
We then "broke in" the engine and tuned it up.
However, I was not able to get it airborn since there was an "old-timer" tournament in the filed. It was quite interesting to see those old (30's and 40's) models flying that high and that fast....

I hope to meet my instructor on Tuesday and get it up to the air for the first time...

Thank you all for your comments and suggestions,
OG.

Made it up yesterday

I went to the field yesterday after work. There was absolutely no wind. My instructor took it up, made all trim adjustments and landed.
I refuled and practiced for about 45 min. (3 flights) (with my instrctor standing next to me of course :) ) and then tried to take off. Made 7 attemps out of which 5 were sucessful...
Came back home and had a lot of cleaning to do...

Had a great time yesterday! :)

With a TT Pro .46, we have to add nose weight. On my Senior, I had to add nose weight. Tailweight? Thats hard for me to beleive.

Nose down

A slightly nose down condition works well. It means that if the plane shoud stall, the nose will drop, the plane will pick up speed and start flying again. I have tried neautral CG where the nose didn't go up or down with disturbing results. When I stalled a plane with the CG set like this, the plane simply stopped moving forward and started to go straight down like an elevator! I quickly went back to the CG with a slightly nose dwon condition.
