Evolution engine
I talked to Horizon Hobby about a few things and since they have two evolution engines the same size i asked what was the difference besides the price, the basic
.61 engine is $119.99 while the engine on the alpha 60 trainer is $79.99 and includes muffler, prop and spinner.I was told they only make one .61 engine not two,i said they had two on there webpage and he said no they didn't,a .61 and a .46 but not two .61's. Question is how can this be since it advertises a .61 on my plane , look here Then at another place, here Bore and stroke are a lot different between the .61 and the trainer engine, anybody know the difference or answer ?. Thanks |
RE: Evolution engine
The "Trainer Power System" is a .45 size engine, but they are using the same prop, spinner, and flywheel from the Trainer Power System on the Alpha 60.

RE: Evolution engine
ORIGINAL: MinnFlyer The "Trainer Power System" is a .45 size engine, but they are using the same prop, spinner, and flywheel from the Trainer Power System on the Alpha 60. Product Features Powered by the reliable Evolution .61 NT engine with 3-bladed trainer prop. Power for the larger airframe comes from Evolution's robust .61 NT engine, outfitted with the same style 3-blade trainer prop found on the Alpha .40 Not trying to start any argument but i thought i would ask. Thanks |
RE: Evolution engine
It DOES use the 61 NT engine.
The engine that you are referring to on the website (as $79.99) is the Evolution Trainer Power System. The Evolution Trainer Power System is a 45 size engine, not a 61. |
