Airplane Storage

Hello,

I was investigating the possibility of storing my plane in the garage. Would this be wise? Would exhaust fumes harm the plane in any way (heat-shrink film coating).

Thanks,

Dan

All of mine are stored there with no problems. They are pretty tough and take the temp changes well. As far as exhaust fumes, I think that the exhaust/oil from your muffler would probably do worse damage than your car fumes that are exposing the planes for less than 15-30 secs.

Airplanes stored in the garage get dirtier than those stored in the house, BUT, We have our computer, workbench, sewing room, and airplanes in the garage, and it is attached, and heated in winter, and still the car comes in and out with no excess dirt on the planes.
(Nothing like a good hangar!
