Question about Tx crystals
 

Can someone tell me please what is the difference between futaba FM and AM transmitter crystals?

Are they on the exact frequency as the channel is?
(For example CH 32 - 72.430 Mhz Futaba FM Tx crystal has it's resonating frequency on 72.430 Mhz or on a lower one?)

I don't know the answer to your question, but you might have better luck in the radio forum. I'll bet someone over there will have your answer.

AM systems are old/outdated - they are considered so because of the possibility of interference. FM is considered the status qou now - I would be kinda nervous about flying AM today.

If I remember correctly a crystal for the same brand AM will work in the same brand FM in most cases. I'm petty sure they did for the old Hitech ones, the futabas had different markings but I think they worked too. The things to watch out for are single or dual conversion and age of the system. Do a good range check to be sure all is right, in fact it's a good ideal to do a range check every time you go fly, an ounce of prevention.....
