extending the batt wires

does anybody have any input on extending wires from the speed controll to the battery? I know that you need larger gadge wire at most. ?

Use the same gadge wire. It will carry the power just fine

Extending wires for almost any electronics in RC is usually pretty simple. Just match color to color and guage to guage. Use plenty of heat shrink tubing for insulation and stagger the connections so they are not side by side in case the wire vibrates through the insulation. You should never mess with the antenna length or wire size. If you do happen to lose part of the antenna it can be replaced to the original length. Same story on the guage of the wire.

thanks for the info. unfortunatly it only got one flight had a real hard time with the cg it would either always tip forward all the way or back all the way. coulden't get it to balance maybe i need to leave it nose heavy? it acted like it was under powered but it had a geared 400 and called for a 280 so it should have plenty of power don't know maybe just a dud

There's a HUGE difference between a speed 400 and a speed 280. (A speed 300 draws about 2x the current of a 280, a 400 even more) If you're using the same battery the motor won't be able to draw enough current and won't give much power. If you use the proper size battery the plane will be very heavy.
