Flaps on ultra stick 40?

Hiya guys just wondered if anybody could help me out. i just got a ulta stick 40 thats going to be my second plane and I am having trouble figuring out how to set it up where it dosent have the flaperons. The radio I am using is a Futaba 6exa i have the alieron servos plugged into channels 1 and 6 and its working but only if i turn the flaperons on if i disable it all i have is one alieron working is there a diffrent way i can program this radio so it works just like Normal alierons? Or do i need to buy a Y harness and hook both servos into channel 1? I would just leave the flaperons on it but Im sure if i did I would do something stupid playing with the flaperons and end up pickin up the pieces lol:) any help yall could give is greatly appreciated

Thanks :D

I'm not familiar with your radio, but here's a suggestion. Hook the flaps into the flap channel with a Y-cord. Slave the gear channel to the aileron at -100% of aileron travel, then disable the gear switch. Don't know if it will work for you, but it works OK for my Airtronics!

The other option would be to leave the ailerons hooked up the way you have and hook the flap servos to the gear channel with a Y-cord... then your gear switch would drop your flaps and you just leave the flap switch alone...

Tec try using a mix. I believe the radio is capeable. Use the aileron channel as the master. And Channel 6 as the slave. That should do what you need. You may have to reverse one of the servo's. You do not need a Y harness. Look in the instructions under mixes and it should tell you how to program them.

I have this radio, and you have only 2 options. 1) Use a y harness 2) use channels 1 and 6, and enable flaperon. That's it. If you have seperate aileron servos going to channels 1 and 6, enabling flaperon is the ONLY way you can get movement on channel 6.
