How do I setup side by side servos - LT40

I am building an LT-40. I want to setup side by side aileron servos under the wing, where the single servo usually goes. I want to have the redundancy and the flaperons too.

I am at the point in the build where I would cut the 1" x 2" inch hole in the wing for the servo tray to go. Seems like I will have to deviate from the plans a bit to make this side by side setup work. Should I cut a bigger hole? Will the stock hole work?

Basically, I want a few details on how to cinfigure the wing to accept two servos instead of one.

Thanks.

I set mine up to use servos further out on the wing, but if you want to use servos side by side in the centre section of the wing, I think you'll have to enlarge the cut out somewhat.. as to how much, I think it's going to depend on which servos you use... although most standard servos are pretty close in size. Best suggestion I can make is get hold of whatever servo you're going to use and use it as a guide as to how big to cut the hole. Hope this helps.

Futaba S3004s. Should the cut be two servos big? and no more?

1 Attachment(s)
Cut the hole just wide enough for the 2 servos (With maybe 1/8" of play) add plywood strips fore and aft for the servo mounting screws to bite into. and run the pushrods from opposite ends of each servo.

You don't want the servos touching each other so I would try for 1/8 " gap between them. By the time you have the holes drilled and the servos mounted solid they may be closer together than you started. Other than that the way MinnFlyer has shown for mounting them will work well. The LT is a great plane to experiment with. Later on you may want to convert the wings to bolt on. You can email me for an easy way to do this if you want. I hated the rubber bands after a while and found the bolts more user friendly and not as messy. :D
