Telemaster 40 engine?

Is the Thunger Tiger GP-15 a good engine for the Telemaster 40?

No -- too small. A TT .42 GP would be a good, but not exciting choice. If you want to stay with TT engines (they are very good), a TT.46 Pro is a real "killer" engine, but that is certainly the most engine that you should consider putting on your telemaster.

Ok then... I have another engine here, I don't have the box so I'll write whats on the engine... it says OS MAX-H 40 RC

Is this a good engine?

It's a helicopter engine but should work. The heads on those were usually oversized for cooling. Just be careful with it. The head may cool off too much in flight. You may be able to get a standard head for it if it does.

I also would agree with the previous poster. A TT 46-pro would be a good choice for this plane. Good luck with it. The Telemaster is a fantastic trainer.

I believe that the OS MAX-H 40 RC is a plain bearing, (or bushing) cast iron baffle piston air plane eng. I may be wrong though.

I believe that broken wings is correct. I am reasonably sure that it is more or less mid - 1970's vintage. I had a .35 OS Max-H U-control engine that was vintage 1969.

I have a 52 fs Magnum on mine, pulls it off the water on floats very well. Mine has flaps which helps with the floats....a real nice combo.

Getting back to DaNkKnD's question -- the OS MAX-H .40 will fly the plane, but not with a lot of enthusiasm.

I thought the "H" designation was for helicopter? I will admit to not even owning any OS engines by my choice. I have 2 old 25 FP's laying around I got in a trade once. I may be wrong. So as several other posters say the same thing consider my advice suspect. on that engine. Lots of my freinds have them. So I see a lot. And I keep my eyes and ears open. Learned a lot. OS's are good engines.

I would suggest a new 46. Thundertiger makes a nice one at a good price. The 46 Pro is a good engine well worth the asking price. Good luck with your T-master. You will love it it is a great plane.
