Prop and spinner installation

Whan installing a propeller and spinner, is it correct that i ream the prop until it slides onto the engine shaft as apposed to have to thread it on? The same question goes for the spinner backplate as well. I shouldnt have to thread either of those should I? The washer and nut will keep them firm on the shaft and I just want to make sure there isnt much play with them both. Thanks for your help. :)

While you will possibly have to ream the prop (and spinner backplate) to get them on the shaft, you do not want any side to side play on the shaft.

It's better to have to thread the prop on than to have it loose.
