After you decide on a trainer do yourself a favor and find yourself a Instructor. [8D]

I bought a Great Planes PT40 and put a 40 LA engine in it- Built it from a kit and built the trainer wing (it has self correcting abilities) and than built a sport wing with less dyhedral (?sp) and it was a great step up with more experience.
As said previously- find an instructor who can be of immense help and educating with minimal damage. Good Luck

Get an Alpha .40 and put a tt pro .46 on it. Mine is capable of some pretty nice aerobatics.

I agree the 6exa is a great radio that your not going to outgrow too quickly its a bargain and the servos are fine that come bundled with it. Id also say to get a 45 or 46 rather than a 40 as you will have a bit more power for your next model. To be honest almost any high wing trainer will do the job they are all very similar but do get instructor at least to help you set up the engine check the plane and show you the basics.

pretty proud of it:)

RE: **BEGINNER**

1/2A is tiny and not a great idea for beginners becasue they're "twitchy" in the air. Stick with 40 size.

(0.061 vs. 0.40.... The 40 is about 8 times larger in capacity.)

And please do not type in capital letters. It is hard to read and is considered shouting.
I recommend the Great Planes PT40. I put an OS40LA on mine and it flies great. The 40LA is not a powerhouse engine, but on a trainer it does fine.

Check out the Xtra Easy 2 ... Hangar-9 just dropped the price and its well worth it. i learned to fly without a trainer by taking small steps... i learned on a 3 channel electric flyer then stepped up to the XE2 .... havent crashed once because it flys absolutely great. Now i'm just learning aerobatics to complete the training that i would normally get from an instructor..... dont get me wrong, i'm sure an instructor is the way to go, i'm just saying that the XE2 is so easy to fly that i was able to learn on it without the aid of an instructor.

I got scared out of the hobby at my local airfield, the guys said they would help me out, but i better not be afraid to light a 100. dollar in my hand and watch it burn. They said i would definately crash, so i sold all my trainers, radios, and engines and got into nitro rc cars and trucks. I did just recently buy a hobby zone commander, its a electric flyer.
