Detailing
Has anyone tried using automotive pin-striping for detailing on a Monokote or Ultracote, and if so did you use any sort of clear coat to seal them from lifting?
As well... is there any product anyone uses like a clear coat to seal the trim other than CA. I found CA turns color after a while and looks like crap, at least on white it does. Any suggestions will be appreciated. |
RE: Detailing
I have used alot of automotive pinstriping but gave it up when it wouldn't stick for long. I now use Monokote Trim sheets and cut striping or stars or whatever. I doesn't need a clear coat and adheres very well. It is considerably heavier than Monokote or other film covering so I only use it for trim. You can use the automotive striping and spray it with Lustrekote Crystal Clear. Evrything I build has an American Flag on it. Most of the flags come as small stickers and are not fuel proof. I use the Lustrekote to cover and have never had a problem.

RE: Detailing
I use Auto trim tape all the time. I just use a touch of CA on the tips to keep the ends from lifting, and I've never had a problem
