Lucky Armpit, back to your original ? A lot of times fuel consumption depends on your dlying. I have a profile that has a 4oz tank and a TT pro 46, the plane is super light. Execpt when doing a manuever, I fly it just above idle most of the time and I can get an 11 minute flight.

I dont have a problem with flying till deadstick either. When I know I am out of fuel I just go a bit higher in order to give myself plenty of working room. I wouldnt call it irresponsible.

As far as keeping you rnose down with a deadstick, I think it helps you from stalling out. If you have the nose up and a wind gust comes by, the plane balloons and then can stall. Keep the nose down and flare right before landing. Its important to know the tendencies of a plane and when it stalls so that you can do this.

Couldn't agree more, Lighten up sig, I think in this hobby, your airplane always has bigger risks then someone who runs out of fuel. Sorry we are not all as perfect as you, who I imagine has never had a single deadstick.
