finished LT-25! need the control throws :(
1 Attachment(s)
I finally finished my first plane, and I am very happy with the way it has turned out. It has taken me a very long time, and I really want to learn to fly it, but I cant find the manual. If anyone knows the recommended balance point and control throws, I would be very happy, and your help will be greatly appreciated.
anyway, here are some pics of my plane: |

For the CG, measure the width of the wing and the CG should be about one third of the way back. better to be a little nose heavy than tail heavy. The elevator and ailerons should move about 20 degrees up and down. It is not that critical. Rudder doesn't much matter. Shoot for about 20 degrees here, but more is OK. Get an experienced flyer to fly it the first time.

Great plane! I've built two of them. Used an LA-40 and they balanced perfectly with it. Recommended throws are:
Elevator: 9/16" up and down. Rudder: 1" right and left. Ailerons: 3/8" up and down. Balance point 3 1/2" aft of leading edge of wing. Number 67 rubber bands are also recommended. 12 of them! They fly very well but don't like hard landings! The landing gear can come out pretty easily if you punish it. They land so easily there really is no reason to have a problem. I think they actually fly better than an LT-40 but don't float as much. |

I use 10 rubber bands myself, thought of a contest event for trainers at a fun-fly sometime back...
It would be the last event of the day, needless to say, everyone starts out with 10 rubber bands, fly's a lap, lands, removes 2 rubber bands and fly's another lap and so-on until someone fly's a lap with the least number of rubber bands. This is MY kind of fun!!! |

Thanks iowanspctr, thats exactly what I needed to know! I am glad to hear that they fly so well and that they are so easy to land. I am going to join a club to fly at, I am just waiting for a email. Thanks again!
