Bubbles
Nice name for a cat, but no.
Having rebuilt my downed nextar using all original internals, I now seem be plagued with bubbles in my fuel line. Tank on Nextar has 3 lines if it makes any dif, extra line is a fill line. So what causes air in fuel? |
RE: Bubbles
vibration?
if you don't have padding around your fuel tank, you should think about getting some. |
RE: Bubbles
Git that. Thanks tho

RE: Bubbles
I am thinking hole in fuel line, but cant see it. Guess I will replace it all and see.

RE: Bubbles
Many times the hole is in the fuel line inside the tank. Just after the brass tube that goes thru the stopper.

RE: Bubbles
If this is a rebuild after a crash, check for cracks in the tank itself. Also check to see if your vent tube is still at the top of the tank. It could have been shifted or bent in the crash, or in the rebuild. Check if the clunk is still properly attached and to the bottom back of the tank as well.

There isnt much you can do about padding around the fuel tank because it already has a "mount" inside of the plane. Have you tried a different prop? On a plane I had, I had an APC 11X6 on it and it vibrated so bad it was causing bubbles.. Put a Master Airscrew 11x6 on it, no problems.. Make sure your prop is balanced.. If not, try a different prop and see if that helps. |
