with aleron or not?
 

i am a new beginner and planing to build great planes trainer 40

but i learned that it has two building possibilities:
1- with aleron-3chanel
2- without aleron 4chanel

i think that i won t satisfied without aleron type,

what is your advises about this subject? :confused:

I would advise that you go with ailerons and a .40 or .60 sized trainer. Larger planes are easier to see and also fly better but are more costly and have the transport problem.

I would also get a basic 4ch radio (check at the local club for instructors preference) I know some will tell you to get a 6ch and maybe even a computer radio. Although I keep saying that I am going to build that plane that requires additional ch. I have not yet done so (been flying R/C since 1953 and have six ch radios but only use 4 (check that out at the club also MOST planes out there will be 4ch.

I agree with Bingo Flier. The plane will fly about the same with rudder, for training, but everyone will tell you to do the ailerons, and you'll want them later anyway.

Go 4 channel. I have been flying a couple of years now, so I am out of the trainer phase, but someone gave me a 3 channel trainer that I wanted to try out before selling it to a friend. I took it up last week, and found it nothing like a 4 channel. Once it was in the air it was ok, but not being able to bank without turning or turn without banking made it awkward, especially when landing. This week I stripped off the wing covering and am adding airlerons.

Make sure you build the 4 channel bird.. also get a good 6 channel radio or better if you plan to stay in this hobby. I have 1 Jr 400 and 2 783 and 1 622. the 400 is only used when we let the kids fly on the trainer with buddy pak. we also have 1 more 652 and a 8103 all Jrs but our lhs has more of the Jr part sin stock than other brands check with you club and your lhs see what they work with the most

I learned on a 3 channel Sig Kadet Senior. Love the plane. Taught me the basics and took me through basic training and solo with no crashes.

But if I could do it all over, I'd opt for the 4 channel Kadet LT-40. After your 3 channel plane, then in the back of your mind is "can I handle the 4 channel plane"? My next plane was an Avistar, what a big difference, a hot rod compared to my slow flying Kadet Senior.

Build a 4 channel trainer, but do get it checked out by an experienced flyer.

they're all lying to you, ailerons are for fools....everyone knows that.

Ok no I'm lying....but seriously, as was stated earlier, you'll want them later.
