RE: broken speedn control
Splicing electrical wires togther is fine. Heat shrink is a wonderful insulator. For a plane I suggest sliding the heat shrink on then splice the wires. Heat the wire and add a little solder to strengthen the splice. Will help conductivity too.
Or not....just keep your wire sizes equal or larger and make sure the connection is good. |
RE: broken speedn control
You need to solder those wires together. Splicing them will work for a time but, what happens when your 200 feet up and the esc quits
and you no longer have power to the rx? I'm thinkin nice crash scene!!!! This has happened to me so I know firsthand. Solder the wires. Dave... |
RE: broken speedn control
I didnt think of soldering them, that a got point tho!!!!!!:D I rather not have the power die out 200 feet up, i would go into a panic!!!

Xplayer, if your gonna hang in there with Electric flight, get yourself a Weller 40 watt soldering iron. Get some solder thats used primarily for electronics and some solder paste. Make sure your soldering iron's tip is squeaky clean and tinned. I solder all my own batteries and connectors and at first, didn't know jack crap about soldering. I can do it now with my eyes closed. Plus, you will save some $$$ by doing your own soldering.
