6EXA or the 7CAF??!?!
 

If I buy the 6EXA, am I going to be wishing I had bought the 7CAF? Is the 7CAF worth the extra $60? And did I read that there were problems with the 7CAF?

you cant beat the futaba DIAL AN KEY

ask any 9c or 7c owner about how helpful it is to have the dial an key.

the screen can show you so much more
compare the too
you will then know that the 7C or 7CAP whichever you get is worth every penny..

Well that was a positive opinion on the 7CAP... What about the digital servos? Worth another $15? Are the S3151's better than the S3004's? Which one is more durable?

Digital is better...more precise. The S3151 has two bearings and bushings vs S3004 sigle bearing. Both use plastic gears. Check the specs torque, speed, weight etc. to compare. S9451 even better.
I think you get what you pay for with servo's. I have had great luck with the S3004's. Several of my planes have them. The other reason is a bit extra for each servo adds up. I found I need metal gears for my rudders after stripping several out. High torque and speed for 3-D.
If money grew on trees all of my planes would sport digital metal geared high speed and torque servo's but at over $100.0O mine get what the plane suggest or better.
I have a 6EXA. My flying buddy has the 7CAF. I would rather have his. It is much nicer for the reasons Felix said and many more. Those did not exist when I bought mine and the 9CAP was out of reach. Do a search for complaints. My friend loves his.

Since you are considering both, I assume that you can afford both. In that case, go for the 7.

I bought a 6EXA earlier in the year when I knew nothing about this hobby. Now that I know a lot more, I am kicking myself in the @$$ for NOT buying the 7C. If you are gonna go into IMAC or Pattern flying like I am next year, you NEED the extra functionality of the 7C, such as Aileron Differential, which you dont have with the 6EXA. And the extra $15-$20 for digital servos on an IMAC plane is WELL worth the extra $$$.

But if your going to just do sport flying, the 6EXA is just fine, but you will not have the extra functionality for 3D/Imac that you need with the 7C.

Hi guys,
I'm also in a stage of considering a 6exa and the 7 cap. You said that the 7 cap is much more better than the 6 in terms of the option of flying, can I assume that the 7cap can do all the 6 exa can do while the 6 exa can't do all the 7 cap can do?

I'm thinking the 6EXA would do everything I need it to do. But then again, I'm still just flying my Nexstar. I have know idea where this hobby will bring me.

The biggest plus to the 7cap is the programming.... It programs just like the 9C... most of the same features also... customizable mixes included. I know I love mine!

The 7C gives you more bang for the buck. Although you might not need all it can do now, in the long run it is a better value. Also, go for the digital servos. There arent that much more if you buy them with the radio but the difference between the standard and digital servos is about $25 a piece. So you get a lot more for your money going that way.

I agree with these guys.....go for the 7C for $60 more....and if digital servos are only $15 more, that's a no brainer!!!

I love the programming of my 9C......if the 7C is just like it, you won't be sorry!

Well guys, i just bought the 7Cap. I stayed with the 3004 servos simply because I'm already over the $200 i wanted to spend. I ended up spending $300.00!! [X(] Had to get a TX case... Right? Anyways... Thanks for all of your advice. I can't wait for it to come!

Wish you would have mentioned the case thing.....you can get GREAT Tx cases at Lowe's or Home Depot for about $23......is it too late to change that order?

If I am correct, PCM is FM as well. The difference is that the CAF is PPM and the CAP is interchangeable between PPM and PCM.
