receiver question

I bought an Airtronics VG6000 FM 6 Channel Computer Radio
Setup for my first plane, now down the road when I get my second, plane do I have to buy an Airtronics receiver? Or will any brand receiver work with my remote, as long as they are on the same frequency?

thanks

RE: receiver question

When buying another reciever you will find that the are listed as Hitec/Futaba (Neg Shift) or JR/Airtronics compatible (Pos Shift) Just ask for one that is positive shift or JR/Airtronics compatible and you will be all set

PS Some Recievers are Shift selectable which means they will work with all major brands (Airtronics Hitec Futaba JR)

RE: receiver question

A lot of flyers at our club are just buying the Hitec Universal which will work on both Airtronics and Futaba by just switching the position of the jumper. Don't forget that you need to order the matching crystal at the same time which usually adds another $20.00 or so. :D

RE: receiver question

Hitec universal, the 7 channel shift select reciever is a good recommendation.

RE: receiver question

Get the negative shift as it will negate noise. Positive shift
just positates noise.

Don't buy a crystal. Take the real challenge and grind your
own from a piece of plate glass.
