How much?

How much time with the trainer before moving on to the 4* 60? I am doing loops, inverted, stalls, hammerheads and what not with the trainer, anything else I should be doing before moving on?

Thanks
Stan

If you can do all that your saying, and your landings are looking good, then I would say your ready for the 4*.

It's not how fast or hard someone can throw the sticks around. Sure they are impressive moves, but its all about how you can take off and land. I've seen people who can slap the sticks around like the best of them and think they are expert pilots, but when it comes to landing and taking off they are lucky if their plane is in one piece when they are done.

To me the key to moving on is the basics. Flying a plane in the air is easy. Once it's up there and high enough there isn't much you can do wrong. Whats the difference between a trainer and a sport plane and a warbird? They all can fly around the same and can probably do mostly the same maneuvers, but a trainer floats in, sport planes a little faster, and warbirds are on the verge of a stall landing.
It's the landings when the plane is close to fellow flyers and you hit rudder the wrong way, or worse dont use it at all.

I am not trying to discourage you from moving on, just trying to enlighten you. If you can take off and land, yer ready to move on.

Not a problem, I understand your concern. The take-offs and landings are good.

So, you haven't ordered it yet?

If you are as proficient with your trainer as you say you are then you may find the 4*60 boring after a few flights. The 4*60 is a low wing trainer and many have learned how to fly using the 4*60. I would check with your flying buddies and see if they feel you are ready for a more acrobatic low winger for your next plane.

you may not like my suggetion, and others may not agree as well but for me it worked great as a second plane, its very for giving and it will do all the maneuvers heck ive even had it hovering, i gutted my nexstar and installed it in a hanger 9 ultra stick 40 not much to look at but i think because it was so ugly that my fear for doing things went away.its also a tail dragger and i feel its a great start, and a little more practical to move up with.its not a low wing but behaves the same in alot of ways but is not as snappy as a low wing.my son has flow a ucando 40 for six months now with a saito 82 after soloing twice with the nexstar!
